Is there life on other planets? That’s a question that has intrigued mankind ever since we discovered that the earth is round, that the earth revolves around the sun, and that each star we see in the night sky is actually a sun with planets revolving around it just like our solar system. What’s more interesting is that there is an innumerable number of solar systems in the universe.

If there is life on other planets, why haven’t they found us yet? The belief that there is life on other planets would follow the theory of evolution. After all, religious texts do not mention life on other planets. If life does exist on other planets, some of them could be trillions upon trillions of years old, and therefore far more advanced in technology than humans. How come no aliens have visited us or made contact with us as yet?

There are rumors that alien spaces crafts crashed in the United States and that United States military concealed the evidence. There are various questionable reports or UFO sightings, and there are all kinds of stories of alien abductions. But if intelligent life exists outside of earth, why didn’t they send diplomats to earth in the same way that humans send diplomats between other countries? Or why didn’t they invade us as humans invade other countries? Why didn’t they introduce themselves formally and tell us their stories?

Scientists have discovered a planet very similar to earth that is located in the habitable zone of its star. They say there is a high probability that life exists on this planet. If life exists on other planets, there is a great chance it would exist there. The problem is that the planet is located about 500 light years away from earth. In other words, if you can travel at the speed of light, it would take 500 years to get there.

At present, for humans, traveling at the speed of light is impossible. Traveling pass the speed of sound was a challenge that humans were barely able to accomplish. But even if humans were one day able to travel at the speed of light, they would not be able to reach this planet in their lifetime. In other words. 6 generations would die before they got there. To put it simply, it would be virtually impossible to get this neighboring planet which shows signs of life, and likewise impossible for them to reach us.

Life may or may not exist on other planets, but it will take a miracle to find out.
